From engineering IBM's first cloud SaaS platform to leading design thinking transformation across the enterprise — driving product innovation and organizational change at scale.

IBM

Offering Manager, Commerce Innovation Team & Cloud

IBM handed me two jobs: turn the SoftLayer acquisition into a cloud platform that could actually compete, then scale design thinking and agile across the entire enterprise.

As Cloud Infrastructure Lead Software Engineer, I led eight engineers to turn SoftLayer into IBM Cloud OpenStack Services, IBM’s first full stack SaaS platform with 170+ products across data, AI, IoT, and blockchain. I worked with global teams to build proofs of concept, present wireframes to executives, and ship the first improved version in three months, tightening code quality through responsive design and a stronger CMS along the way.

Moving into the Offering Manager role for Commerce Innovation, I took on the organizational change work directly. I built IBM’s first enterprise-wide offering management playbook, setting standard practices for design thinking and agile product development. I mentored Offering Managers across eCommerce, B2B, AML, Compliance, and Cognitive portfolios, ran workshops on digital readiness and iterative SDLC, and coached executives on business models and go-to-market strategy.

My interest in machine learning turned into real work: I built Watson-powered proposals for Fortune 500 clients like The Weather Channel, REI, Lowe’s, and Nordstrom that tested live personalization and pulled predictive insights from real customer data. I co-created the Sponsor User program, which grew from 25 to 75 participants and set up steady customer feedback loops across IBM’s portfolio, sharpening the products and deepening the customer relationships behind them.

SoftLayer to IBM Cloud OpenStack Services

I led the work to turn IBM’s SoftLayer acquisition into IBM Cloud OpenStack Services, the company’s first full stack cloud SaaS platform with 170+ products and services across data, containers, AI, IoT, and blockchain. As Cloud Infrastructure Lead Software Engineer managing eight engineers, I worked with global teams to build proofs of concept, present wireframes to executives, and ship the first improved iteration in just three months. I raised code quality through responsive design and a stronger CMS, and helped shape the strategy and execution behind bringing IBM Cloud to market.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

Enterprise-Wide Offering Management Playbook

I designed and ran IBM’s first enterprise-wide offering management playbook, giving portfolio teams digitized guidance, resources, tools, and sample assessments for design thinking and agile. I mentored Offering Managers across eCommerce, Merchandising, B2B, AML, Compliance, and Cognitive disciplines on bringing design thinking and lean agile into their portfolios. I ran workshops on digital readiness, agile, and iterative SDLC, and coached executives on business models, strategy, and go-to-market, standardizing how products got built in a way that scaled across the company.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

Watson-Powered Hyperpersonalization for Fortune 500 Clients

I built proposals using Watson and cognitive learning to test live personalization and digitize self-help experiences for Fortune 500 clients including The Weather Channel, REI, Toms, Lowe’s, Tiffany & Co., and Nordstrom. I pulled predictive insights from real customer data to lift engagement and make those experiences more personal. I also co-created the digital Sponsor User program, which gave every IBM offering a way to connect with sponsor users for validation and feedback, grew from 25 to 75 participants, and set up continuous discovery that strengthened customer relationships.

Contributions
  • Shipped the first enhanced IBM Cloud iteration in three months. Worked with global teams on proofs of concept and executive wireframe reviews to deliver the first improved, open source version on a tight timeline.
  • Drove strategic planning for enterprise commercialization. Helped set the strategy and execution behind bringing IBM Cloud to market, building the frameworks that guided how the platform grew and positioned itself.
  • Coached executives on business model and go-to-market. Advised executives and stakeholders on business model development, solution validation, market alignment, and go-to-market strategy.
  • Built user experiences through participatory design. Used storyboarding, persona building, journey mapping, and prototyping to align teams across functions around a shared vision and real customer value.
From Cloud Engineer to Innovation Leader at IBM

My time at IBM is the clearest example of how much continuous learning drives my work. I started as Cloud Infrastructure Lead Engineer and delivered IBM's first cloud SaaS platform in three months, then followed my interest in machine learning into Watson-powered proposals that reshaped personalization for Fortune 500 clients. As Offering Manager, I turned that into IBM's first enterprise-wide offering management playbook, mentored colleagues across eCommerce and cognitive AI portfolios, and co-created the Sponsor User program, changing how IBM built, validated, and brought products to market while deepening my own work in emerging tech.
