Modernizing Evernorth's mobile ecosystem to simplify healthcare access for millions through intelligent, scalable solutions.
Evernorth Health Services
Senior Mobile Product Advisor
Evernorth’s mission is to make care simple, fast, and personal for 27 million patients. The hard part was the plumbing underneath. Turning legacy healthcare systems into something that works on a phone meant integrating Epic, MDLive, and VillageMD, meeting strict HIPAA requirements, clearing clinical approval at every step, and serving very different patient populations on both iOS and Android.
As Senior Mobile Product Advisor, I led Evernorth’s Future of Care accelerator, the initiative to rethink how the company delivered care on mobile. I launched two foundational pillars: “See a Doctor,” which connected patients with virtual and in-person care, and “Behavioral Care,” which expanded access to mental health support. I owned both from first concept to App Store launch, setting the strategy, getting stakeholders aligned, and shipping features that changed how millions of people reach care.

See a Doctor
I led the zero-to-one launch of the “See a Doctor” pillar. By integrating the Epic EMR, MDLive, and VillageMD APIs, I shipped clinically approved features like virtual check-ins, provider chat, health records access, and after-visit summaries. The result was less time waiting for care and more control for patients, who could pick a provider based on their own preferences and needs.
Search, Match and Schedule
I built provider matching and scheduling that used machine learning to connect patients with the right provider, not just any available one. I designed the health assessments and search flows behind it, and got appointment booking down to within three business days. I tracked weekly and monthly scheduling volume and ran experiments on the user flow to push conversion higher.
Universal Capabilities
I built the technical foundation the rest of the ecosystem ran on: modular micro-UI components and microservices that sped up development across every product. That reusable infrastructure cut time to market by 40%, let teams plug features in and out, and set API-first standards that kept integrations clean while holding the line on HIPAA compliance and clinical safety.
- Led the Future of Care accelerator. I was the product partner to the Chief of Staff and product leadership, owning the vision and execution behind mobile healthcare for 27 million users on iOS and Android.
- Launched the “See a Doctor” pillar (zero to one). Ran the pilot and market launch of the feature connecting patients to virtual and in-person care, tied to the roadmap, OKRs, and clear impact goals.
- Launched the “Behavioral Care” pillar (zero to one). Owned product development end to end, widening access to mental health support and cutting time to care with clinically approved mobile features.
- Built the micro-UI and microservices infrastructure. Designed clinically approved, modular components integrating Epic EMR, MDLive, VillageMD, and other CDO systems. That reusable foundation cut time to market by 40% and let teams plug features in and out across the platform.
- Owned the product roadmap. Balanced quick wins like offline mode and push notifications against longer-term bets that set the product apart in a crowded healthcare market.
- Stood up the analytics framework. Defined KPIs for scheduling, task completion, retention, and engagement, reported through Tableau. Task completion rose 25%, bounce rates dropped, and mobile sessions ran longer.
- Ran App Store and release management. Handled iOS and Google Play submissions, releases, and stakeholder comms, keeping every deployment HIPAA compliant and clinically approved.
- Led discovery and design thinking. Ran workshops with clinical SMEs, engineers, and designers to turn messy healthcare workflows into simple features, working around constraints like API latency and HIPAA.
- Supported inclusivity and accessibility. Assisted in the introduction of DEI work across Evernorth and Cigna’s mobile and web products so features served diverse patients and met accessibility standards.
This work sat right where strategy meets engineering. I set OKR-aligned roadmaps and then built the architecture to deliver them. In design thinking workshops with clinical SMEs, I turned healthcare complexity into something simple on a phone, building modular components and microservices on top of Epic EMR and a stack of other APIs, while solving for API latency and HIPAA along the way. The infrastructure outlasted the launch: modular architecture that cut time to market, microservices teams could iterate on independently, and analytics that made decisions less of a guess. It set a model Evernorth's mobile ecosystem still builds on.
