Managing product strategy for CA Technologies' Agile Central, Flowdock, and Catchfly platforms—leading cross-functional teams to deliver customer-validated features across web, iOS, and Android in eight languages.

CA Technologies

Senior Product Manager, Agile Central

CA Technologies needed to move three different productivity platforms forward at once: Agile Central (Rally), Flowdock for team collaboration, and Catchfly, a new productivity accelerator. All of it had to serve global customers on web, iOS, and Android in eight languages.

As Senior Product Manager, I owned product strategy and development across all three, managing a team of eight developers and coordinating the front end and back end so the API integration and cross-platform work held together. I brought customers straight into big room planning, and used design thinking workshops and Jobs-to-be-Done to find real pain points and validate solutions before anything shipped.

I prioritized new initiatives with agile methods, ran cross-segmentation rollouts that let us release iteratively and roll back when needed, and presented portfolio metrics, roadmaps, and demos to executives and R&D. Through steady customer contact, A/B testing, and usability labs, I made sure features were approved by customers and actually landed across different global markets, keeping CA competitive in a crowded productivity and agile management space.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

Customer-Driven Feature Validation

I changed how CA built products by putting customers directly into planning and validation. I ran weekly big room planning sessions where engineers, product, and customers built roadmaps and set priorities together. With design thinking workshops and Jobs-to-be-Done, plus usability testing and A/B experiments, I gathered both the hard data and the human feedback to confirm features were approved by customers before they shipped. Engagement went up and we wasted far less development effort on the wrong things.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

Global Cross-Segmentation Rollouts in Eight Languages

I managed the rollout of new features across eight languages for Agile Central, Flowdock, and Catchfly. I built an iterative SaaS release approach with rollback built in, so localization held up and delivery stayed on time across very different markets. I coordinated the front end and back end, managed the API integrations, and aligned distributed teams across the US to run phased deployments that kept customers happy and risk low.

KEY CONTRIBUTIONS

Innovation Labs and Context-Driven Product Discovery

I co-created customer context labs to dig into real insights, sharpen our analytics, and get ahead of pain points through hands-on brainstorming with engineers and customers. In design thinking sessions we built empathy maps, personas, and journey maps, then turned what we learned into concrete product changes. It lifted engagement, shaped what we prioritized, and set up feedback loops that kept the products in step with what customers actually needed.

Driving Product Innovation Across Three Platforms

At CA Technologies, I led product across three platforms, Agile Central (Rally), Flowdock, and Catchfly, in the run-up to the company's acquisition by Broadcom. Managing eight developers and coordinating distributed teams across the US, I built a way of working that put customers directly into planning and design thinking. Through Jobs-to-be-Done, global rollouts in eight languages, and constant validation with usability testing and A/B experiments, I shipped features customers had already approved, which drove engagement and kept CA's productivity suite competitive.
